Well what a crazy week this has been! Cooper turned 18 months old and we found out at my 8 week doctor's appointment that we are having twins! We knew something was different when the doctor said "Oh, my" when she saw my sonogram. The official due date is 11/4, but twins come at least 2 weeks early so that will be around 10/21. After the initial shock, I think it has finally sunk in that we are having 2 babies and we are very thankful for this double blessing. We are learning a lot about twin pregnancies, which involves a lot more trips to the doctor. After my next appointment, I will get sonograms every 4 weeks to check on their progress at the specialist. We are just praying for a healthy pregnancy. And we are thinking about all the preparations we will need to make to bring these two into our house....like getting a bigger car and another carseat!
Now onto Cooper, he is 18 months old now and does not quite understand that he is going to be a big brother. He has learned to say "two babies" now, so that is a start. His new favorite thing to do is to line up his toys or other items he finds around like diaper rash cream. He loves to take anything and line them up on the coffee table. Cooper is also talking a lot more these days and will often repeat what we say. Some new words include "turtle" and "steak" (since we had this for dinner last night and he actually ate some of it!) His favorite game is still peek-a-boo and he loves tickling his feet. Cooper also still loves Elmo. He always asks to watch Elmo and will say "Elmo" at the TV if something else is on. He had a good trip to the Doctor for his check up yesterday and got the last shot he will have to have until he is 5. Cooper now weighs 24lbs and is 32.5 inches long and we do not have to go back to the Doctor until Cooper is 2! Poor little guy is going to have to grow up soon and be mommy's helper when the twins come!
We are so happy for you guys! I can't imagine your surprise when you found out! I bet it's a moment you'll remember forever! Such a special blessing!
